Dr. Law is a native of Mobile, Alabama and a graduate of Spring Hill College, the University of South Alabama, and Auburn University. He served as an infantry officer during several tours in Vietnam. He has worked as a psychologist for the Alabama Department of Mental Health, Opelika City Schools, and the Veterans Administration. He was an early pioneer in the study of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and has published widely on PTSD, hypnosis, assessment and testing, career and vocational issues. He has provided therapy to over 5,000 patients with PTSD and adjustment issues, trained psychologists, physicians, counselors and social workers in techniques for helping people with PTSD and other disabilities. He has been a vocational expert for the Veterans Administration, Social Security disability, state rehabilitation agencies, and the federal Office of Worker's Compensation and Pension. Dr. Law is a member of numerous professional societies and was recently awarded the Distinguished Reviewer designation from the Buros Institue of Mental Measurement. He has been head of the graduate program in rehabilitation counseling at the Univesity of South Alabama since 1990. He has served on the board of the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Board for many years. He has consulted with law enforcement agencies on the use of the polygraph and assisted in the investigation of high profile serial killer cases. He and his associates provide services for clients and consult with many agencies.
